Still, over a few years of tasting, one of the most consitent pulls in Ottawa (yes, even more consistent than some automatics out there...easy to do when there is un vero barista at the controls). Disclaimer: I have only visited on the morning over a few years and only really come for the macchiato. I have had the odd espresso, but seem to prefer the softer taste of the macchiato. I can't say that espresso is bitter... far from it...but neither is it silky smooth as some I have had in Ottawa or in other cities. This has nothing to do with the pull, but rather owes partly to the nuttiness of roasted beans. Always a great experience (no long lines...at least when I have been there).
Little taste of Paris in the big city . Very quaint and cozy feel with warm staff an AMAZING chocolate selection that is hard to resist. Coffee is amazing ( I prefer the dark roast) - yet has an assortment of tea as well. Always busy and plenty of panini 's for lunch ( 5$ including tax) . I go probably 3x for a coffee and little box of chocolates - perfect treat .
A pleasant break from the monotony of downtown. Cafe Delice is a breath of fresh (possibly Parisian?) air in the midst of a culinarily-impaired part of downtown. The caffeinated beverages are really nicely done, as is their variety of deluxe chocolates. I would like a little bit more sitting room -- it feels cramped on days where you can't sit outside -- but otherwise I have no complaints about Cafe Delice. Plus the service is generally friendly and there are rarely long lines, unlike some popular coffee establishments.
